Course Overview
This hands-on course teaches construction estimators how to use AI tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft Copilot across the full bid period — reviewing bid documents, identifying scopes and trades, challenging gaps and risk, tracking addenda, communicating with subtrades, building comparison sheets, reviewing quotes, and preparing a bid sheet with qualifications. The emphasis is language, document analysis, comparison, reasoning, and communication in estimating workflows — not autonomous takeoff. Throughout the course, the source documents remain the authority and the estimator remains accountable for the bid. Who Should Attend Designed for construction estimators, and for project coordinators, project managers, and site staff who support estimating or takeoff workflows.
Learning Outcomes
1. Distinguish general-purpose language AI, AI-assisted estimating, partial automation, specialized takeoff tools, and autonomous estimating — and recognize where each realistically helps.

3. Classify AI output as confirmed information, inference, estimator assumption, missing information, or conflict requiring clarification.
4. Screen and prepare project documents for AI use — permission, currency, searchability, data minimization, and a traceable document index.
5. Produce a structured estimator’s bid-review sheet from a bid package using a staged AI workflow.
6. Convert specifications, drawings, and trade definitions into practical bid packages and a traceable trade-invitation list.
7. Challenge scope for gaps, overlaps, conflicts, and risk, and draft preliminary schedule logic for site staff review.
8. Review addenda and bid-period revisions, and carry the changes back through every earlier output.
9. Draft clear, neutral, source-referenced subtrade communication without creating unintended commitments.
10.Build a trade scope comparison sheet before quotes arrive, and use it for a controlled firstpass quote review and bid leveling.
11.Prepare a complete bid sheet and a disciplined qualification register that does not make the bid non-compliant.
12.Run an exception-based final bid review, and state clearly what AI must never own in an estimate.

This course is delivered in partnership with local and provincial construction associations across Canada. You will be participating with a group of industry peers from multiple regions.

Morgan is a Bluebeam Certified Instructor with over 10 years of construction experience, including owning his own company and working for one of North America's largest general contractors. With a degree in Construction Management from BYU-Idaho, he teaches Bluebeam Revu in a practical, no-nonsense way that helps teams save time and work more efficiently.

Refunds
• A full refund may be requested up to and including the Friday prior to the scheduled course date.
• Pre-course enrollment emails (including access to training files, links, and materials) are sent on the Friday before the course. Once these emails have been sent, refunds will not be issued, as participants have been granted access to course materials and preparation resources.
Transfers & Date Changes
• After pre-course emails have been sent, participants may:
• Request a transfer to a future course date, or
• Transfer their registration to another person.
Non-Attendance
• No-shows (failure to attend without prior notice) are not eligible for a refund, transfer, or rescheduling under any circumstances.
Prerequisites
Pre-Requisites
• AI for Construction Workflows (Curtek AI1), or equivalent working knowledge of the R-T-D-F-R prompting framework and information-privacy fundamentals.
• Working experience in a construction estimating environment is recommended.
Technical Requirements
You will need TWO screens for this training; one with the software installed for your use, the other for the online meeting to be displayed.

Required — at least 1 paid version of the following:
