Join our 1-hour workshop designed to equip construction professionals with the knowledge of why nutrition is important and practical skills to navigate common nutritional challenges specific to their work environment.    

What We'll Cover: 

  1. Navigating Nutritional Challenges in the Construction Industry:
    • Identify and overcome common challenges such as time constraints, irregular eating times, and limited dining options on construction sites. 
    • Develop practical solutions to address specific nutritional hurdles that impact workers in the construction industry.  
  2. Nutrition Foundations:
    • Understand the importance of balanced nutrition in supporting physical and mental well-being on the job.
    • Explore the role of essential macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates, and fats) in maintaining energy levels and overall health.  
  3. Balanced and Satisfying Meals and Snacks for Workers: 
    • Learn the components of a balanced meal tailored to the needs of construction professionals. 
    • Receive practical examples for constructing satisfying breakfasts, lunches, and on-the-go workday snacks.  
  4. Hydration Strategies for Construction Sites: 
    • Explore a variety of beverages that contribute to hydration needs, considering the unique challenges of construction work. 
    • Implement practical hydration strategies to ensure optimal performance and well-being.  
  5. Building Sustainable Nutrition Habits: 
    • Gain insights into effective strategies for incorporating balanced nutrition and hydration into the work routine. 
    • Learn how to build and maintain healthy habits, considering the demands and constraints of the construction industry.  
 

By the end of this course, participants will be empowered to make informed nutritional choices, overcome common challenges, and establish habits that support sustained energy and well-being in the dynamic and demanding construction environment.

  1. Computer or laptop 

    • This course will involve on-screen interaction with your instructor and classmates, reading/viewing on-screen content (slides or videos), and interacting via typing with questions or responses. For this reason, cellphones may not be adequate. 

    • Windows 10 or Mac iOS  

  1. Internet connection - For best results, you will want to ensure you have an internet connection with an upload/download speed of 3-5 Mbps. You can test your internet speed here. Minimum recommended speed is 1.5 Mbps, but anything below 3 Mbps may result in loss of quality or buffering. Ideally hardwired connection versus wireless for stability - connect your computer directly to your router using an ethernet cable, rather than using your home wi-fi.  

  1. A quiet space with minimal distractions - microphone will be engaged for interactive sessions. Please plan to be fully engaged in the class and clear your work schedule just as you would for the in-class program.
