Description

The Rigging Awareness Course is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of rigging principles, equipment, safety procedures, and best practices. Rigging plays a critical role in various industries, including construction, manufacturing, and entertainment.

This course provides participants with an extensive understanding of rigging principles, equipment, safety procedures, and best practices. The course material aligns with the material that is covered in the Fulford Rigger Certification training and is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to perform rigging operations safely and efficiently in various industries.

 This course will cover:  

  • Pre-lift hazard assessments
  • Owner, operator, and supervisor responsibilities
  • Safety factors and safe working load limits
  • Rope and sling inspections
  • Determining sling types, sizes, and configurations using sling capacity charts
  • D/d ratios
  • Sling centre of gravity
  • Crane and hoist signals
  • Rigging and crane safety
  • Choosing the right sling for the load
  • Types of hitches and how to use them
  • Standard hand signals
  • Lifting, moving, and lowering a load safely

For practical training basic PPE is required: 

  • Hard Hat
  • Safety Vest
  • Steel Toe Boots
  • Gloves

The Rigging Awareness Course provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform rigging tasks safely and effectively. By understanding rigging principles, equipment, and safety procedures, individuals can contribute to creating a safer working environment and reducing the risk of accidents in their respective industries.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE: 

There is no exam or assessment for this awareness course.

Completion of this course does not certify you as a Fulford Certified Rigger. This course is for awareness only. Participants who complete this course can work under the supervision of a competent and certified rigger.
