Description

This Rigging Fundamentals Course, taught by an accomplished crane instructor and Rigger Certifier, offers a comprehensive introduction to essential rigging skills. Over the course of one day, you'll gain valuable classroom theory and hands-on practical training, including load weight calculations, identifying the center of gravity, rigging techniques, and directing crane lifts.

Course Outline

  • Crane and hoisting hand signals
  • Load weight estimation
  • Location of the load center of gravity (COG)
  • Rigging hardware and appropriate uses
  • Rigging hardware inspection and rejection criteria (regulations vary by jurisdiction)
  • Use of rigging tables to select appropriate hardware for hoisting
  • Sling angle capacity calculation
  • Care and storage of rigging hardware
  • Common hazards and safety around cranes and overhead hoists
  • Lift planning and advanced topics awareness

The Rigging Fundamentals Course provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to perform rigging tasks safely and effectively. By understanding rigging principles, equipment, and safety procedures, individuals can contribute to creating a safer working environment and reducing the risk of accidents in their respective industries. 

IMPORTANT NOTE: 

There is no exam, assessment, or practical component for this fundamentals course.

Completion of this course does not certify you as a Fulford Certified Rigger. This course is for awareness only. Participants who complete this course can work under the supervision of a competent and certified rigger.
