Lead Awareness
Description
This course will help you recognize where lead is found, the occupational hazards and health effects of lead exposure, and the responsibilities that you and your employer have to minimize your lead exposure while on the job.
Upon successful completion of this course, you should be able to:
- Identify the characteristics of lead and sources of lead exposure
- Recognize potential health effects from exposure to lead
- Recognize the symptoms of lead poisoning
- Understand your employer's responsibility to minimize your exposure to lead by determining workplace hazards, implementing work practice controls, and implementing a medical surveillance program
- Understand your responsibility to limit your exposure to lead by wearing required PPE, including respiratory protection
- Follow good hygiene practices to keep you safe from lead exposure

Pass Mark
Testing conducted throughout this online course is designed to reinforce the information presented. A mark of 80% must be achieved in order to receive a certificate of completion. Participants are able to repeat the course twice if the pass mark is not achieved.
