Leadership is an inside-out exercise, and this course will give you tools to better understand your own leadership strengths, how to motivate others, and how to listen and communicate better with your team. Attendees also receive two hours of FREE one-on-one personal leadership coaching! **Not mandatory for course completion**
In the past, old-school leaders worked from a top-down hierarchy model: using a carrot/stick mentality to try and manage behavior. These tactics sometimes produce short-term improvements, but fail in making real, lasting, changes in team performance. This course is designed to help you discover a more effective way of leading your team by starting with yourself. Leadership is an inside-out exercise, and this course will give you tools to better understand your own leadership strengths, how to motivate others, and how to listen and communicate better with your team.

Coaching Sessions:
After the course is over attendees will have access to two hours of FREE one-on-one coaching with your course instructor to help answer any questions or real-world problems you may be facing.The coaching sessions are an added bonus and are not mandatory for course completion.
Coaching sessions can either be scheduled as four, 30-minute sessions, or two, one-hour sessions, and must be scheduled within four weeks of the end of the course. Your course instructor will provide you with instructions on how to schedule your sessions.
Delivery Method: Virtual Delivery – Zoom Platform
Course Fee Includes: Access to the course, course materials, 2 hours of individual coaching, and a digital certificate upon completion.
This course is delivered in partnership with local and provincial construction associations across Canada. You will be participating with a group of industry peers from multiple regions.
Sharing a single registration between two or more individuals is not permitted. Please register each person that will be in attendance.
Prerequisites
We recommend that students have some experience in an entry-level, assistant, or junior leadership role either through employment or volunteer experience.
Those with less experience are welcome to attend but may find it hard to appreciate the material without prior experience or context.

This course will involve on-screen interaction with your instructor and classmates, reading/viewing on-screen content (slides or videos), and interacting via typing with questions or responses. For this reason, cellphones may not be adequate.

Internet connection- For best results, you will want to ensure you have an internet connection with an upload/download speed of 3-5 Mbps. You can test your internet speed here. The minimum recommended speed is 1.5 Mbps, but anything below 3 Mbps may result in loss of quality or buffering. Ideally hardwired connection versus wireless for stability - connect your computer directly to your router using an ethernet cable, rather than using your home wi-fi.

A quiet space with minimal distractions –The microphone will be engaged for interactive sessions. Please plan to be fully engaged in the class and clear your work schedule just as you would for the in-class program.
