How do you write emails that are effective, clear, and concise?
Emails are more important than ever as a key communication medium. Colleagues, clients, project owners, subcontractors, vendors, suppliers, and others expect your emails to be clear and to the point, whether you’re providing an update, requesting more information, or asking questions. You’ll learn to write emails that contain a clear subject line, are direct, and are concise—all important for your audience, whether they are reading your emails from a mobile phone or other device.
This 90-minute session is focused on giving you the tools to write effective emails. We will cover key topics, including:
- Writing persuasively for different audiences (technical and non-technical audiences)
- Having clear subject lines
- Structuring your emails—using a direct approach for maximum impact
- Incorporating clear topic sentences
- Using headings and bulleted and numbered lists effectively
- Incorporating generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) to speed up your writing
- Avoiding common mistakes
We’ll review effective and ineffective sample emails and you’ll be able to immediately incorporate key takeaways for your writing. There will be an opportunity for you to ask questions as well.
