Bullying and harassment in the workplace can take many forms, including verbal aggression, personal attacks, and other intimidating or humiliating behaviours. If workplace bullying and harassment is not addressed, it can lead to lost productivity and has far-reaching effects on the health and well-being of workers, as well as on their job tenure, job stability, and job satisfaction.
Did you know that overall- in Canada, 19% of women and 13% of men reported that they had experienced harassment in their workplace in the past year? And 40% of Canadian workers experience bullying on a weekly basis?
In this 3-hour interactive session, we will explore:
- What is bullying and harassment, and how do they differ?
- The different types of bullying & harassment and what it looks like in the workplace.
- The costs of bullying and harassment on people and organizations.
- Prevention strategies.
- The obligations of workers, managers, and the organization.
- Policy recommendations.
- Steps to take after a complaint is made.
- Potential consequences after the investigation.
- Case studies.

There are no prerequisites for this course. While this course is part of a series, participants are not required to attend all course in the series or attend in any sequence. Each course in the series can be attended independently.

Internet connection- For best results, you will want to ensure you have an internet connection with an upload/download speed of 3-5 Mbps. You can test your internet speed here. The minimum recommended speed is 1.5 Mbps, but anything below 3 Mbps may result in loss of quality or buffering. Ideally hardwired connection versus wireless for stability - connect your computer directly to your router using an ethernet cable, rather than using your home wi-fi.
