This course covers legal requirements, best practices, and prevention strategies for workplace bullying and harassment under BC’s safety regulations.
Description
This course provides attendees with training that meets the statutory training requirements as required by the BC Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations related to workplace bullying and harassment. The training can qualify as initial (onboarding) or refresher training (annual or periodic).
Challenges this workshop addresses:
- The nature and impacts of workplace bullying and harassment
- Understanding the legislation and requirements for employers and employees
- Ensuring there is legal compliance with the legislation
- Learn best practices for effectively managing and even avoiding bullying by taking steps to reinforce behavioral expectations for civility
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Understand the fundamentals of workplace bullying and harassment and distinguish them from normal workplace interactions
- Recognize and identify bullying and harassment and understand the motivation behind the behavior
- Ensure that your team understands the legal requirements for providing a safe workplace and ensuring it is free from bullying and harassment
- Learn about Anti-bullying and harassment policies provided by employers
Delivery Methods: Virtual with Zoom Meetings or In-Person/Classroom delivery available.
Course Fee Includes: Access to the course, course materials, and upon completion a digital certificate if requested.
This course is delivered in partnership with local and provincial construction associations across Canada. You will be participating with a group of industry peers from multiple regions.
Sharing a single registration between two or more individuals is not permitted. Please register each person that will be in attendance.

- This course will involve on-screen interaction with your instructor and classmates, reading/viewing on-screen content (slides or videos), and interacting via typing with questions or responses. For this reason, cell phones may not be adequate.

Internet connection- For best results, you will want to ensure you have an internet connection with an upload/download speed of 3-5 Mbps. You can test your internet speed here. The minimum recommended speed is 1.5 Mbps, but anything below 3 Mbps may result in loss of quality or buffering. Ideally hardwired connection versus wireless for stability - connect your computer directly to your router using an ethernet cable, rather than using your home wi-fi.
