About the presenters:
Xenia Gordienko – Co-Founder of The BIM Kitchen, brings over 19 years of design and construction experience and a dual background in Computer Science & Informatics and Architecture. She has developed BIM standards for projects across Europe, Russia, and North America and has navigated firsthand the challenges of implementing BIM in complex organizations and across both small and large-scale projects. A frequent university speaker, Xenia shares insights on driving BIM innovation, overcoming common pitfalls, and establishing effective virtual design and construction workflows. Currently a VDC Department Manager at ETRO Construction, she previously collaborated with Anneka Chand at EllisDon Corporation to advance BIM strategies and transform project delivery.
Anneka Chand – Co-Founder of The BIM Kitchen, has 15+ years of experience spanning the UK and North America, combining expertise in Architectural Technology and Nuclear Design. She has implemented BIM across sectors from healthcare and transport to commercial and residential, tackling the practical hurdles that emerge in real-world projects. Now leading business development at The BIM Kitchen, Anneka leverages her hands-on experience to help organizations adopt BIM effectively, introducing innovative workflows and strategies proven in practice. Previously, she worked at EllisDon Corporation and Turner Construction, driving BIM adoption and change.
Together, Xenia and Anneka bring a combination of forward-looking vision and practical experience—professionals who have faced BIM’s challenges firsthand and now guide Canadian builders in implementing BIM with confidence and efficiency.
