CCDC 5A+5B Master Class Workshop
Gold Seal: 3 Credits
Description
Unlock the full potential of your project delivery with our Construction Management CCDC 5A + 5B Master Class, an intensive workshop focused on the core philosophy of "Managing Risk to Maximize Value." This session goes beyond simple administration, offering an in-depth exploration of how to turn potential project liabilities into strategic advantages. From the perspective of seasoned industry partners, you will gain the clarity to distinguish what CM truly is (and isn't), identify the specific pitfalls that cause projects to fail, and deploy advanced tools to optimize the performance of this Delivery Method.
For the first time, we are bringing virtual instructor-led expertise to your office through the synergy of multi-disciplinary trainers’ knowledge that has only been delivered at conferences. Three trainers (Project Owner, Consultant and Contractor) will share their perspectives and expertise. And it gets better! In the past, conference presentations have been focused on a one-way exchange of know-how from the speakers to you. This workshop moves beyond that one-way exchange to allow you to apply what you have learned and provides the opportunity for participants to ask questions and tap into the extensive real-life experience and expertise of the diversity of our accomplished trainers.
“Learning from your own mistakes is EXPERIENCE: Learning from the mistakes of others is WISDOM. Come and experience both the experience and wisdom of your trainers.”
DESCRIPTION:
By deconstructing the advantages and disadvantages of CCDC 5A (Services) versus CCDC 5B (Services and Construction), you will learn to navigate complex compensation structures—including "own forces," the nuances of reimbursable costs, and the critical "Cost of Services vs. Fees" distinction. We will explore the definitive paths to cost reliability, teaching you how to apply forensic skills to compare total RFP costs and weigh the pros and cons of converting to consolidated pricing in a 5B agreement.
